A partnership spanning over 30 years!

It all began in 1989 when Spuerkeess was forced to stop offering insurance. Wishing to continue insuring its clients’ loans, SPUERKEESS turned to LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE, the only partner with 100% Luxembourgish capital – a key point of common ground for both companies. That same year, a European directive required La Luxembourgoise to separate its life and non-life business.

The partnership took shape with the creation of the subsidiaries LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE Société Anonyme d’Assurances and LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE-VIE Société Anonyme d’Assurances, with SPUERKEESS acquiring a 40% stake in LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE’s Life and Non-Life subsidiaries. To strengthen this collaboration, SPUERKEESS committed to distributing only LALUX insurance products.

Today, the success of the SPUERKEESS – LALUX partnership primarily lies in providing cover for mortgages and financing. However, both partners wish to take the partnership to the next level by focusing on corporate clients.
